Varicose Ulcers

A varicose ulcer is an open, unhealing sore on the leg - and the legs carry us forward in life. It is read as being painfully stuck where one no longer wants to be, resisting a change one fears, feeling unsupported (especially by the mother) and collapsing under responsibilities, with a held anger at situations one experiences as unjust. The stagnation of the blood mirrors a stagnation of joy and a wound that will not close.
