Tinnitus

Ringing in the ears

An inner noise of unrelieved stress - needing recognition while resisting a change one will not face or hear.

Tinnitus is an inner ringing or buzzing unrelated to one's surroundings, read through the ears as how we take in what we are told - and as a noise that often arises under great performance stress, frequently after an emotional shock that raised one's stress sharply (a divorce, a job loss, a break-in). The pattern is a need to be recognised and have one's identity and rights respected, alongside a fear of losing one's place or status that one will not face, a difficulty questioning one's own ideas to the point of stubbornness, and a resistance to changes one did not choose. The short explanation's stressed, recognition-hungry resistance sits here. Relief is described as facing the change one is resisting, easing the need for recognition, and quieting the inner stress the ear is sounding.

(Note: this is a metaphysical interpretation; new or persistent tinnitus is worth having checked medically.)

Example from the findings: the inner ringing is read as unrelieved stress after a shock, resisting a change one won't face or hear.
