Otitis (Ear Infection)
Ear infection
Not wanting to listen to guidance, either from within or from the world around us.
An ear infection is read as discomfort over something heard - or not heard. In children especially it follows what parents say to each other or to the child when one cannot voice one's own discontent; the hurt can equally come from what one longs to hear and does not - "I love you," "well done." The fluid behind the eardrum is read as a wish to return to a protected, womb-like quiet. The short explanation's "not wanting to listen to guidance, either from within or from the world around us" sits in that shutting-out of what is said. Relief is described as letting oneself hear - voicing one's discontent and taking in the words, including the love, that reach one.
Example from the findings: the ear infection is read as discomfort at what one hears, or the ache of what one needs to hear and does not.
