Obesity
Obesity / being very overweight
Fear of life’s challenges.
Within this framework, excess weight is read as a protective layer built between one's inner self and the outside world. The pattern is an unconscious wish to insulate oneself - to cushion a vulnerability or shield a feeling one would rather not face - out of a fear of being exposed, hurt by criticism, or unsafe, sometimes tracing back to a frightening experience around closeness. There is a longing to love and draw near to others that is held back by fear, so a buffer accumulates instead. The short explanation's "fear of life's challenges" is that protective distancing. Relief is described as feeling safe enough to be seen and close to others without the buffer, and meeting the underlying fear directly.
(Note: this is a metaphysical interpretation, not a medical account of weight, which has many physical causes.)
Example from the findings: the layer is read as protection against exposure and a felt gulf between oneself and the world.
