Neurosis
Anxiety (neurosis)
Indulgence in insecurity.
Neurosis is read as the strain of emotions one cannot master, or a search for an identity to replace one the person refuses in themselves. One stays in touch with reality and functions in society, yet carries chronic anguish, feels alone and unsupported, and grows emptied and disconnected from one's own feelings - holding oneself back from really living while also fearing the end of it. A constant, exhausting inner battle runs underneath, and dependencies or obsessive habits may appear as a release valve. The short explanation's "indulgence in insecurity" is that anxious, self-thwarting state. Relief is described as reconnecting with one's emotions, taking one's rightful place, and letting oneself live and take pleasure rather than standing guard against it.
Example from the findings: neurosis is read as unmastered emotion and a refused identity producing a constant inner battle and held-back living.
