Upper Back & Neck Pain

Upper back pain

Lack of strength.

The upper back is read as the region of the heart - where one finds, or lacks, the strength to carry one's emotions - and of the neck vertebrae that govern communication and one's openness to life. Trouble there is read as feeling unable to bear one's emotional load, and as closing up "like an oyster" when one feels judged, criticised or treated unjustly, unable to affirm oneself or one's opinion. The short explanation's "lack of strength" is exactly that felt inability to carry one's emotions and stand open. Relief is described as finding the strength to carry one's feelings, speaking and affirming oneself, and staying open rather than shutting down under judgement.

Example from the findings: the upper back is read as the heart's strength to carry emotion, failing where one closes up against judgement and injustice.
