Leukaemia

Within these belief systems leukaemia is read as the joy of life no longer circulating, with hatred buried deep - often toward a parent - turned against oneself, alongside a refusal to keep fighting. It is frequently read as following the loss of a loved one, or a painful distance from a parent (often the father); in a child it is read as a reluctance to grow under too much pressure, deeply disappointed by what they see. The short explanation's "self-hatred" names that inward-turned hostility and the giving-up beneath it. Relief is described, in that framework, as letting joy and love flow again, releasing the buried hatred through forgiveness, and choosing to love and value oneself rather than self-destruct.
