Eye Ache

Eye pain / sore eyes

Excessive emotional and mental stress due to feeling bad about oneself, or because of feeling unworthy and inadequate.

The eyes are read as the mirror of how we see our life - and trouble there as a strain in looking. When one resists what one is seeing, when the truth seems hidden or a situation cannot be faced, the eyes react and ache. One tradition roots this in sadness not fully released and in guilt and accusation - the eye that "longed" for something and now carries the blame; feeling bad about oneself, unworthy or inadequate, colours that looking. The short explanation's "excessive stress due to feeling unworthy and inadequate" sits in that strained, grieving sight. Relief is described as being willing to see one's life clearly, letting the sadness out, and easing the guilt and self-blame so looking no longer aches.

Example from the findings: aching eyes are read as resistance to what one sees, with unreleased sadness and self-blame straining the sight.
