Encopresis (Involuntary Defecation)

Soiling (childhood bowel accidents)

Severe emotional insecurity.

Involuntary soiling is read through control and an insecurity too great to manage. The pattern, read here, is a loss of grip that life seems to be using to teach flexibility - letting go of people and situations one cannot control - while underneath sits an immense disappointment, a giving-up, a slipping into guilt and passivity rather than action, and a felt lack of power over oneself. The short explanation's "severe emotional insecurity" is exactly that overwhelmed loss of mastery. Relief is described as restoring a felt sense of safety and support, easing the despair, and helping one feel able to manage again.

Example from the findings: the loss of control is read as insecurity overwhelming one's mastery - a giving-up rather than a holding-on.
