Conjunctivitis

Conjunctivitis inflames the eye, and the pattern is a refusal to see: unconsciously one will not look at a situation that wounds or that one disagrees with, so one's way of seeing has become painful, breeding a frustration that burns - the swollen, watering eye seeming to wash away what it cannot bear. One tradition adds a quieter root: eye trouble arises where sadness is not fully released - the inflamed irritation can follow crying that only half-emptied the grief, or grief held back and never cried at all. The short explanation's "not being able to accept the reality of life" is that refusal to see clearly. Relief is described as being willing to look differently and forgive, and to let the grief out fully rather than half-cry it or swallow it.
