Chickenpox

Chickenpox is read through a very sensitive, highly influenceable child - one keenly affected by what happens around them, especially with the mother or whichever parent feels most essential. Being so permeable to their surroundings, the child reacts to change; the eruption is read as appearing when a change is felt as bringing more distance from that parent - even a small shift in routine experienced as a kind of separation. The short explanation's sensitivity to felt separation sits here. Relief is described as reassuring the child of closeness and security through the change, so the felt distance eases.
