Burns

Anger at the self, or feelings of guilt or shame.

A burn injures the skin, our boundary with the world, and the pattern is something burning within - deep, dark, repressed emotion such as anger, grief or despair, turned back against oneself as guilt and self-punishment. An emotional burn can surface this strongly and physically. The part burned refines the message: hands point to guilt over something one is doing now and a stubborn persistence; feet, to the direction one is about to take, perhaps a fear of a new person or situation one is at once burning to approach. The short explanation's "anger at the self, or feelings of guilt or shame" is exactly that inner fire turned inward. Relief is described as releasing the buried emotion and easing the guilt, so it need not scorch.

Example from the findings: the burn is read as repressed, violent emotion turned against the self as self-punishment, the site naming what one feels guilty about.
