Arthritis/Arthrosis of Temporomandibular Articulation (Jaw)

Jaw-joint arthritis (TMJ)

Lack of fluidity with respect to accepting the process of life.

The jaw begins the work of taking in - food, and the reality around us - so it is read as our power to open to others, to speak our truth, and to face opposition. Trouble there comes from clenching: holding back, gritting one's teeth on repressed anger and stubbornness rather than letting things be said or "swallowed." The two jaws, meeting to be effective, are read as one's capacity to confront the struggles one carries. The short explanation's "lack of fluidity with respect to accepting the process of life" is that locked, clenched holding. Relief is described as unclenching - letting one's truth be spoken and one's anger move - and opening to others without bracing.

Example from the findings: the jaw is read as clenched on repressed anger and stubbornness, gripping what one will neither say nor swallow.
