Adrenal Dysfunction
Adrenal gland problems
Excessive mental and/or emotional stress.
The adrenal glands are the body's fear-and-stress responders, and in one systematic framework fear is precisely what strikes them: fear lands on the kidneys and adrenals, their vital hormone output falters, and willpower - seated, in that framework, in the same region - drains away. (The same framework notes these hormones are so essential that they are the first thing given in clinical death.) Prolonged stress and fear wear the person down into defeatism: a quiet giving-up where they stop caring for themselves. The short explanation's "excessive stress" is the driver; fear is its sharpest form and self-neglect is where it ends. Relief is described as feeling safe and supported enough to look after oneself again - and, in that framework, as forgiving the fear so it no longer governs the body.
Example from the findings: the end-state is defeatism and no longer caring for the self, with fear identified as the force that disables the organ.
